Two PPTCO productions, The Piano Lesson and Corps Values, have won a total of nine Onyx Awards. AACTA, the African American Council on the Arts, awarded the fourth annual Onyx Awards for African-Americans in theater and dance on June 29, 2007. Awards for PPTCO productions included, for The Piano Lesson, Best Production, Best Direction (Mark Clayton Southers), Best Equity Actor (Alan Bomar Jones), Best Supporting Actors (Kevin Brown and Wali Jamal), Best Up and Coming Youth Actress (Taylor Whitley), and Best Costumes (Deryck Tines), and for Corps Values, Best Sound (Brendon Elder), and Best Minority Actor (Joseph Martinez).
